If you still get a BSOD, then hardware looks very possible. I was hitting 45,000 before but I had the cpu overclocked and was causing stability issues(can't lock my PCI bus cuz i have a crappy MB). Newegg has no tech support for this and nVidia just tells you to contact the manufacturer. If the card will not accept a driver then you cannot test the card by downclocking the core and vram. can explain that? So, forget the drivers on the disc.
And you have to totally purge any previous nVidia install if installing a new/different driver as they create conflicts. also make sure the integrated graphics aren't turned on either for some reason.
